Předmět: K5QE and the
CQ WW VHF contest....
Hello to everyone in the 2M EME community. This year, the CQ WW VHF Contest will be held July 19th and 20th. The contest begins at 1800Z on Saturday and ends at 2100Z on Sunday. We want to work as many EME stations on 2M as possible to increase our grid count. All new grids gratefully appreciated. Please help us with this event by working us on JT65b or CW. Thank you very much.
There has been a significant rules change this year. Stations attempting digital EME contacts are allowed to post Call, Frequency, and Sequence ONLY to the various
reflectors. This means that a station calling CQ in the contest will be able to post something like "144.142MHz....CQ CQ CQ de K5QE Second". That is what I usually post anyway. Stations in the contest will not be able to post if they are doing CW EME or making contacts via tropo scatter or other such means.

The moon rises here at 0635Z Sunday, July the 20th(=1:35AM CDST on Sunday). At 0635Z, we will start EME operations using JT65b on a frequency of 144.142MHz and we will take SECOND sequence. If we hear a CW caller, we will immediately switch to CW. If you are EME capable, please try to work us off the moon. This is a great time for us and for most of the EU stations--so if you are in EU, you won't have to get up in the middle of the night to work us. As the moon moves to the west, we will be looking for our friends in Oceania.
We will be running QRO with 8 x 18’s and ask that you try to work us if you see us during the contest. Every new grid really helps our score. With the new rules, everyone in the contest can look at the N0UK EME-1 reflector. If you work us, please spot us AND our frequency--that way, others can find us. Remember, we are NOT allowed to post the usual "Thank you" with contact information as we normally do. If you are not in the CQ contest, you can post to the reflectors freely. So you can talk to us, we will just not answer back. If you don’t see us on 144.142MHz, please check back later because we may just be looking for stations to call or working a tropo station.
Good luck to all in the contest and we hope to see you there. Thank you.
