although I am not member of CRC (but some members of OK2KKW society are members of another IARU national societies), I would kindly ask you this way to suggest following discussion point for next Interim meeting. I hope some IARU member society may consider to support this suggestion and submit it directly by them. Anyone should feel free to use the below proposal. So, please consider, if such idea could be by some way submitted to the Interim conference, although CRC probably strictly refuse it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Transmitting power limit in the IARU Region 1. VHF and UHF contests: At the present time are national rules across EU countries very different: between 50W and 3kW out. As well as the output power definitions are very different: some national rules consider power limit as some effective PWR, PEP, ERP or even EiRP, somewhere are calculated into total limit summary of each PA output and in other countries not. It creates unequal conditions for contest participants and particularly use of too high output power creates EMC troubles for other stations. I would suggest (similarly as it was in IARU rules 25 years ago) to set the common rule for IARU Reg.1 VHF/UHF contests: Power limit of the contest station must not exceed power limit 1.5 kW RF limit if the national legal limit is not lower. The 1.5 kW power limit is defined as PEP on the output of PA. If more PAs are used by station in the same time on one frequency (multibeaming concept), then the power outputs of all used PAs will be summarized and such summary level must not exceed the above power limit. The same definition (PEP and summary of all used PAs output power) should be added into EDI log PWR definition as well as. Tne national societies are asked to organize time to time power limit check of stations, which repeatedly are winners of national results of IARU VHF / UHF Contests and publish power check results. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you in advance for support of this private idea. For final, let me wish you Merry Christmas and particularly good health, happiness and lot of success in 2013 year.
